Job summary

ARCO Design/Build in White Plains, NY is seeking an Assistant Superintendent for new grads (class of 2027). The role offers exposure to the full lifecycle of a project, collaboration with seasoned professionals, and rapid growth within a top design/build contractor.

You will oversee field activities, coordinate with subcontractors, and help ensure safety, schedule, and budget alignment on diverse industrial build projects.

Qualifications

• Recent or upcoming completion of an accredited Civil, Mechanical, Architectural, Construction Management, Building Science, or Construction Engineering undergraduate or graduate program (other related engineering majors will be considered)
• Interest in the construction process, specifically design/build, tilt-up concrete, industrial builds, etc.
• Previous experience in construction preferred, but not required
• GPA 3.0 or higher preferred, but not required
• Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Project
• Excellent verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic
• Valid Drivers License

Responsibilities

• Preconstruction Planning - Attend post-award meetings to review project details and assist with construction planning before work begins.
• Project Scheduling - Work with the Project Manager to develop construction schedules, sequencing, staffing plans, and equipment needs.
• Field Leadership - Oversee daily construction activities to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to project specifications.
• Subcontractor Coordination - Manage subcontractor activities, communicate schedule updates, and ensure work is properly coordinated across trades.
