Job summary

ARCO Design/Build in Memphis, TN seeks an Assistant Superintendent (New Grad 2027) to support field leadership and delivery across projects. You will participate in preconstruction planning, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination while ensuring safety and quality on site.

This role offers exposure to the full lifecycle of a project, mentorship from experienced professionals, and a pathway into leadership within a top national design/build firm.

Qualifications

• Recent or soon-to-be graduate of an accredited Civil, Mechanical, Architectural, Construction Management, Building Science, or Construction Engineering program (or related).
• Interest in design/build, tilt-up concrete, industrial builds, etc.
• Previous construction experience preferred but not required.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver's license in your state of residence.
• GPA 3.0+ preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Preconstruction Planning – review project details and assist with planning before work begins.
• Project Scheduling – help develop construction schedules, sequencing, staffing plans, and equipment needs.
• Field Leadership – oversee daily construction activities to ensure safety, schedule, and budget adherence.
• Subcontractor Coordination – manage subcontractor activities and schedule updates.
• Material & Equipment Management – assist with material deliveries, shop drawings, and submittals.
• Progress & Cost Tracking – prepare progress reports and monitor project costs.
• Owner & Design Team Communication – maintain regular progress updates with owners and architects.
• Jobsite Meetings – lead coordination meetings with PMs, regional managers, subs, and team.
• Documentation – maintain daily reports and project records.
• Safety Leadership – promote and enforce safety program on site.
• Team Collaboration – align office and field operations toward project delivery.
