Job summary

Leidos in the United States is seeking an Exploitation Specialist to manage the library’s geospatial and textual assets, transforming analog records into digital formats and ensuring comprehensive discoverability. You will oversee custodial operations, indexing, encoding, archival work, and the augmentation of the collection based on client needs.

We value knowledge of MARC 21, AACR2R, and RDA, plus experience in data repositories and metadata quality assurance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with 2-3 years of relevant experience.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI CI Polygraph adjudication.
• Proficiency in deploying anti-malware software and associated methodologies.
• Familiarity with library clerical functions and cataloging conventions.
• 1-3 years of experience in stewardship and evolution of data repositories.

Responsibilities

• Execute transmutation of analog records into digital formats.
• Custodial operations for collection: indexing, encoding, archival, dissemination.
• Propose acquisitions based on replenishment protocols and client requisitions.
• Enforce declassification protocols where pertinent.
• Provide investigatory assistance using multiple databases and repositories.
• Contribute to data repositories, synoptic datasets, and visual documentation.
• Assist in drafting, evaluating, and disseminating procedural guidelines for web interfaces.
• Populate and curate library systems databases and collections.
• Support archival activities for cartographic and graphical materials.
• Adhere to customer cataloging directives; maintain data quality.
• Review metadata for structural and semantic integrity.
• Contribute to Quality Assessment and Management services.
• Collaborate with affiliated entities, technical authorities, and project leadership.
