Job summary

Leidos is seeking a data and records specialist to transform analog records into digital formats and to manage custodial operations for a large library collection. You will enhance metadata, support acquisitions, and ensure adherence to cataloging standards while collaborating with technical teams and project leaders.

The role requires TS/SCI clearance, experience with data repositories, and familiarity with library operations and MARC/AACR2R/RDA standards.

Qualifications

• HS diploma plus 2–3 years of relevant experience.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with eligibility for CI Poly.
• Experience deploying anti-malware software.
• Familiarity with library clerical functions.
• Knowledge of library cataloging conventions and standards.
• 1–3 years' experience stewarding data repositories.

Responsibilities

• Execute the transmutation of analog customer records into digital formats.
• Undertake custodial operations for the collection, encompassing indexing, encoding, archival, dissemination, and related tasks.
• Propose acquisitions predicated on replenishment protocols and client requisitions to augment the collection.
• Enforce declassification protocols where applicable.
• Provide investigatory assistance and ad hoc project support using diverse databases and repositories.
• Contribute to creation and maintenance of data repositories, datasets, and visual documentation.
• Assist in formulating and disseminating procedural guidelines for web interfaces.
• Populate and curate the customer library systems database and collections.
• Support archival activities of the Library of Congress concerning cartographic and graphical materials.
• Adhere to established cataloging directives of the customer.
• Support database and library content maintenance, including data addition, removal, investigation, rectification, and sanitization.
• Review metadata and verify structural and semantic integrity.
• Contribute to Quality Assessment and Management services.
• Collaborate with affiliated entities, technical authorities, and project leadership as needed.
