Job summary

QB Fabrication & Welding, Inc. in Clackamas, Oregon, is seeking a Project Coordinator / Junior Estimator to support planning, quoting, and execution of steel fabrication projects, including transmission towers and substation structures.

You will assist with estimates, material pricing research, and maintain project status information while coordinating purchasing and follow-up. You will interact with Production, Purchasing, Shipping, and QA/QC to keep quotes and active projects on schedule,

Qualifications

• Experience supporting projects, estimates, purchasing, or technical operations in construction, steel fabrication, manufacturing, or a related setting.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and follow-through across multiple assignments and deadlines.
• Working proficiency in Excel, email, and document management; ability to learn estimating and ERP systems (TEKLA preferred).
• Ability to interpret basic technical drawings and specifications, or a demonstrated foundation and willingness to develop these skills.
• Clear, professional communication with customers, vendors, and shop personnel.
• Willingness to ask questions, raise concerns early, and take ownership of assigned work.

Responsibilities

• Estimate and quote preparation: track RFIs, documents, deadlines and follow up on missing information.
• Coordinate project status, schedules, milestones, and open-item lists with departments.
• Research prospective customers and bid opportunities; monitor steel pricing and supplier lead times.
• Maintain project and purchasing information in TEKLA ERP and company spreadsheets.
• Suggest improvements to quoting, reporting, and document control.
