Job summary

Ohio Gratings, Inc. is seeking an Estimator to prepare project takeoffs, review bid documents, and communicate with internal teams to determine scope and procurement needs.

You will quantify materials from drawings, identify buyout items, and ensure accuracy in takeoffs with respect to specs and revisions. The role requires a high school diploma, proficiency with Excel/Word/Outlook, AutoCAD, and ERP systems, plus strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Navigate, read, interpret, and review drawings and specifications to develop the scope of work.
• Review bid documents for interpreting specifications and identifying project-specific requirements.
• Communicate clearly with internal contacts regarding customers, market, or competitors.
• Determine quantities on individual projects and identify needed buyout items.
• Determine scrap factor on specialty products.
• Review drawings and specifications to develop accurate material takeoffs.
• Qualify all conflicts between drawings and specifications.
• Review revisions of drawings and specifications to ensure takeoffs are updated.
• Communicate with customers to clarify job scope.
• Perform duties per Company safety, engineering, and quality policies.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
