Job summary

EWI Recruitment seeks a motivated Junior Estimator to support the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for a range of projects. You will work closely with senior estimators, project managers, suppliers and subcontractors to contribute to tenders and budgets.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, measuring quantities, compiling costs, and assisting with bills of quantities and pricing schedules. Strong numerical skills and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Experience in estimating, quantity surveying, construction, engineering or related environment desirable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Willing to learn industry-specific estimating or project management software.
• A relevant qualification or working towards one would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Measure quantities and compile material, labour, plant and subcontractor costs.
• Request and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Assist with preparation of bills of quantities, pricing schedules and tender submissions.
• Maintain records of estimates and update cost databases; identify risks and opportunities.
• Support post-tender analysis, cost comparisons and handover information for awarded projects.
