Job summary

TJ McCartney is seeking a Junior Estimator to assist the estimating team with analyzing drawings, compiling cost data, and supporting the price development process. This role builds a foundation in construction pricing, cost control, and project planning on large-scale New England projects.

You will review drawings, perform takeoffs, and help prepare detailed estimates while maintaining organized backup and contributing to competitive bids.

Qualifications

• Reading drawings and specifications is essential.
• Develop cost estimates from drawings and data sources.
• Support the estimating process and cost control during preconstruction.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specs, and project docs to support estimate development.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and assist in preparing detailed cost estimates.
• Compile and analyze data from historical cost data, material pricing, and internal cost data.
• Maintain organized backup documentation for all estimates.
• Support estimate updates, revisions, and cost comparisons in preconstruction.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and assist in scope review and clarification.
