Job summary

Innovative is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to develop cost estimates for projects in our office-based team. You will analyze drawings, prepare takeoffs, and ensure proposals align with requirements and margins.

The role collaborates with engineering, procurement, and construction, supports business development, and maintains thorough documentation. Bachelor-level or equivalent experience required, with 2+ years in estimating or costing.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
2+ years of estimating or project costing in construction or industrial settings.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to remain seated or standing for extended periods.
Occasionally may lift or carry items up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Analyze project specifications, drawings and related documents to develop accurate cost estimates.
Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to gather data.
Prepare detailed takeoffs for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Evaluate and update historical cost data for use in future bids.
Assist with the development of project proposals and bid packages.
Ensure compliance with company pricing strategies and margin goals.
Attend internal meetings to align estimating with sales goals and operational capabilities.
Maintain accurate and organized documentation of estimates and proposal records.
