Job summary

William Charles Construction, a MasTec Company, seeks a Junior Estimator to perform quantity takeoffs and review contract documents for accurate bids. The role collaborates with estimating staff, develops subcontractor scopes, and supports bid preparation with data gathering and outreach to pricing sources.

The position is office-based in Indianapolis, with potential travel between Illinois and Indiana offices. A civil/structural engineering or construction management background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with heavy civil construction preferred.
• Accurate quantity takeoffs and document review are essential.
• Knowledge of contract documents and pricing practices is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze and interpret contract documents for complete understanding of the work to perform accurate quantity takeoffs
• Develop subcontractor and supplier scope packages and perform detailed outreach to procure pricing coverage as required
• Coordinate with lead estimators and provide support for bidding assigned scopes of work
• Document management, collecting information and completing basic bid deliverable forms and subcontractor and supplier quotes
• Effective communication and interaction with clients, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers
• Company representation at pre-bids and site visits

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Construction Management
