Job summary

William Charles Construction, a MasTec Company, is seeking a Junior Estimator with heavy civil estimating experience to deliver takeoffs and cost estimates for railways, foundations, drainage, culverts and walls.

The role involves preconstruction support, contract review, and bid development. Office-based with occasional site visits across Illinois and Indiana, you will work with procurement to ensure material availability and risk management.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in heavy civil estimating.
• Ability to review contract documents and produce accurate estimates.
• Experience with takeoffs, cost estimation, and bid development.

Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary budgets and itemized summaries for go/no-go decisions.
• Review contract documents to provide detailed, accurate cost estimates.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and cost calculations for labor, materials and equipment.
• Develop subcontractor and supplier scopes and procure pricing coverage.
• Manage the bid process from start to finish and present to executives.
