Job summary

GlobalFoundries in Essex Junction, VT is seeking Equipment Engineer Interns who are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (junior year) to support sustaining and running the fab floor. You will lead an intern project and present its results at year-end poster session.

The role includes hands-on engineering, collaboration with process teams, and opportunities to grow in semiconductor manufacturing technology. This is a full-time internship with on-site work.

Qualifications

• Education – junior year pursuing Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Must have at least a 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.
• Fluency in English (written & verbal).
• Willing to travel up to 10%.
• Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement for throughput, cost reduction and yield learning.
• Define and maintain equipment installation roadmaps and qualifications.
• Lead equipment planning, selection, and configuration with area engineers.
• Design and analyze experiments to optimize equipment performance and cost targets.
• Lead hands-on troubleshooting to resolve long-term issues and deconstruct complex systems.
• Collaborate with integration and process engineering to support next-gen tech transfer.
