Job summary

GlobalFoundries is hiring Equipment Engineer Interns for its Fab 9 location in Essex Junction, VT. You will resolve equipment and process issues, lead an intern project, and present findings at year-end poster session.

Open to students in their first year of a 4-year degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Requires a minimum 3.0 GPA, English fluency, and a 40-hour work week during the internship. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Sophomore in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering pursuing degree in an accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement for throughput, cost reduction, and yield learning.
• Define and maintain equipment installation roadmaps and qualification processes.
• Plan, select, and configure equipment with area process engineers and manage start-up and ramp.
• Design and analyze experiments to optimize equipment performance and cost of ownership.
• Lead hands-on troubleshooting to resolve long-term performance issues.
• Collaborate with integration and process engineering to support next-generation technology development.
• Support technology transfer to other fabricators.
