Job summary

GlobalFoundries is seeking Equipment Engineer Interns for our Fab 9 site in Essex Junction, VT. You will lead an intern project, resolve equipment and process issues, and collaborate with process engineers to support manufacturing readiness and technology transfer.

The role targets students in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum 3.0 GPA who can work up to 40 hours per week and travel up to 10% as needed.

Qualifications

• Junior pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Must have at least a 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing
• English fluency required (written & verbal)

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement for throughput, cost reduction, and yield learning.
• Define and maintain equipment installation roadmaps and qualification.
• Collaborate with process engineers to plan installation, startup, and ramp of equipment.
• Design, execute, and analyze experiments to optimize equipment performance (tech, yield, reliability).
• Lead hands-on troubleshooting to resolve long-term performance issues.
