Job summary

GlobalFoundries inc. in Essex Junction, Vermont, seeks an Equipment Engineer Intern for Summer 2027.

You will work on sustaining and improving fab floor equipment, resolve process and equipment issues, and lead a project that concludes with an end-of-year poster session. You should be pursuing a 4-year engineering degree (Electrical or Mechanical) as a junior, maintain at least a 3.0 GPA, and be able to work up to 40 hours per week with some travel.

Qualifications

• Education: pursuing a degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA and good academic standing.
• English language fluency in writing and speaking.
• Travel up to 10% and ability to work 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement for throughput, cost reduction, and yield learning.
• Define and maintain equipment installation roadmaps and qualification.
• Collaborate with area process engineers on equipment planning and ramp.
• Design and analyze experiments to optimize equipment for performance and cost of ownership.
• Lead hands-on troubleshooting and deconstruct complex systems.
• Collaborate with integration and process engineering for next-generation tech and tech transfer.
• Perform all activities safely per EH&S requirements.
