Job summary

DLA Piper is seeking a junior associate for its Corporate practice. The ideal candidate will advise sponsors, developers, investors and financial institutions on complex energy, infrastructure and corporate transactions, including M&A, project development, project finance, JVs and strategic investments.

Preference for candidates with renewables/energy transition experience and strong drafting/negotiation skills; open to all US offices with preference for San Diego or New York.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in the jurisdiction you are applying.

Responsibilities

• Legal Research: conduct thorough research to support transaction strategy.
• Legal Writing: draft memos, contracts and correspondence.
• Transaction Assistance and Management: assist/manage complex transactions from inception to resolution.
• Client Interaction: build and maintain client relationships with professionalism.
• Collaboration: work with lawyers and business professionals on transaction strategies.
• Attend client calls and meetings; participate in negotiations.
• Compliance: stay updated on legal standards and precedents.
• Professional Development: pursue ongoing training to enhance knowledge and leadership.
• Firm Citizenship: engage in pro bono and community initiatives.
