Job summary

DLA Piper is seeking a junior associate to join its Corporate practice in the United States, with a focus on energy, infrastructure, and corporate transactions. The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of experience in M&A, project development, project finance, joint ventures, and related finance transactions.

Candidates should have JD from an accredited law school and admission to practice (CA). The role offers hybrid in-office work with some flexibility and a clear, competitive compensation

Qualifications

• JD required and licensed or eligible to practice in one or more jurisdictions.
• Strong academic credentials from nationally recognized law schools.
• Experience advising sponsors, developers, investors, and financial institutions on complex energy, infrastructure, and corporate transactions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research to support transaction preparation and strategy.
• Draft memos, contracts, and correspondence with high accuracy and clarity.
• Assist/manage complex transactions from inception to closing, with sound professional judgment.
• Engage with internal and external clients, providing timely updates and professional service.
• Collaborate with lawyers and professionals to develop effective transaction strategies.
• Participate in client calls and meetings, supporting negotiations and decisions.
• Stay current with legal standards and changes in precedents; pursue ongoing development.
