Job summary

FALCATA\u2019s AISR Division in Arlington, VA seeks a Software Engineer to design, develop, integrate, and test software for uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS). The role focuses on embedded software for autonomous vehicles, payload and sensor integration, and rapid prototyping.

The ideal candidate will have a hands-on background in embedded software, strong problem-solving, and the ability to work with a multidisciplinary team across sites, with up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or associate degree in CS/EE/related field with 02 years experience.
• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain Top Secret DoD clearance.
• Proficiency in programming languages: C/C++, Python, MATLAB, JavaScript.
• Experience with embedded systems for autonomous vehicles.
• Strong foundation in software engineering concepts: data structures, algorithms, testing.
• Applied mathematics: differential equations, linear algebra, and statistics.
• Ability to communicate effectively in an engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain clean, well-documented code for embedded systems.
• Assist in debugging and testing a larger codebase with a multi-developer team; conduct developmental tests.
• Support software system development for UAS platforms, including prototyping and lab/field evaluation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team across locations.
• Work with product owners to build software solutions for requirements.
• Create workable software solutions in rapid timelines to meet challenges.
