Job summary

ZTR invites applications for a Junior Field Service Engineer - Electrical based in Detroit, MI. You will troubleshoot PLC-based solutions, support customers in the field and remotely, and occasionally travel to client sites for commissioning and installation of ZTR equipment.

The role requires a two-year diploma or electrical engineering degree, at least 2 years of relevant experience, and readiness to travel up to 25%. You will report to the Technical Service Manager in London, Ontario.

Qualifications

• Mandatory Requirement: Two year or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering degree.
• Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experienced with PLCs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills for a variety of audiences.
• Ability to work autonomously at customer sites and manage project scope & cost.
• Exceptional organizational and data entry skills required for related administrative tasks.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% to customer sites for on-site commissioning and/or installation of ZTR equipment.

Responsibilities

• Program, configure and troubleshoot ZTR locomotive operation, products, and solutions.
• Provide excellent Customer Service and Support in both field and telephone support.
• Travel to customer sites for commissioning & installation of ZTR equipment.
• Provide on-site technical training and presentations to customers.
• Perform sales support and project management tasks as assigned.
