WSP USA in Hailey, Idaho is seeking a full-time Early Career Electrical Engineer (ESSP) to join our Power and Energy Team. You will contribute to due diligence, design, and construction support for utility-scale projects, under supervision, focusing on substation design, power distribution, and protection systems.

This role provides hands-on experience with engineering calculations, documentation, and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree.
0 to 1 years of relevant post-education experience.
Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
Familiarity with electrical design standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data for substation components and procurement packages.
Assist with design of single line and three-line diagrams, layouts, grounding, and protection concepts.
Provide entry-level technical assistance on equipment sizing, cabling, and conduit design.
Verify site characteristics and provide basic engineering support on procedures and issues.
Develop electrical calculations for loads, feeder sizing, voltage drop, and power distribution under supervision.
Generate documentation using electronic systems and field logs.
Follow safety guidelines and company policies, and complete assigned trainings.
Collaborate with team and adhere to project schedules and quality standards.
