Job summary

AECOM Roanoke, VA is seeking an Electrical Engineer I to support medium and large-scale projects across corporate workplace, DoD and Mission Critical sectors. The role involves learning under a Sr. Electrical Engineer and contributing to electrical plans, models and calculations.

You will create plans with Revit or AutoCAD, develop SKM models for arcflash and fault currents, and help interpret client standards into code compliant designs. Strong communication and willingness to learn are valued.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, AGI and MS Office preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of a Sr. Electrical Engineer, perform assignments using standard techniques to develop engineering tasks.
  • Create electrical plans and details with Revit or AutoCAD.
  • Create electrical models in SKM to calculate arcflash, fault currents and voltage drop.
  • Interpret and implement client standards into code compliant designs.
  • Utilize lighting software to perform lighting calculations.
  • Prepare calculations, drawings and specifications under supervision.
  • Assist with electrical design of power distribution, lighting, grounding and protection for various sectors.
  • Work under supervision of a senior team member.
