Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a skilled machinist to set up and operate CNC/EDM machines, fabricating high-precision spaceflight components. You will work with AgieCharmilles, Sodick, Mitsubishi EDMs and various CNC controls to ensure first article success on tight tolerances.

You will collaborate with engineering to transition products to production, perform routine maintenance, and contribute to Lean improvements, supporting a culture of safety and quality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year in working with Wire and Sinker EDM machines.
• Interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, instructions, procedures.
• Extensive experience with Okuma, Fanuc, and other CNC controls.
• Excellent blueprint reading including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994.
• Basic computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office).
• Ability to earn trust and work in a diverse team.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC/EDM machines and equipment to produce accurate components.
• Interface with leadership to prioritize work based on schedules and goals.
• Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications.
• Assist with transitioning from development to production.
• Perform light maintenance and cleaning on machinery and equipment.
• Collaborate using Lean/CI to reduce waste and improve quality.
