Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton seeks an entry-level Technical Writer to support Joint Staff doctrine publishing. You will edit, format, and standardize documents, apply terminology rules, and assist senior editors and SMEs to maintain consistency across Joint Doctrine publications.

This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of formatting tools (Word, Adobe), and the ability to follow editorial workflows with strict timelines; a Secret clearance and an Associate’s degree or 2+ years editing

Qualifications

• Experience editing or formatting professional documents.
• Experience using document formatting features in Microsoft Word, Adobe, CorelDraw, and Photoshop.
• Experience editing documents according to set standards for order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
• Knowledge of Joint or Service doctrine development and publishing processes.
• Ability to follow established editorial rules, workflows, and production timelines.
• Secret clearance.
• Associate’s degree or 2+ years of editing experience in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Edit basic errors, apply formatting standards, and review content for clarity.
• Support senior editors and subject matter experts by preparing documents for publication.
• Maintain consistency across Joint Doctrine publications and related Joint Staff tools.
