Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Distribution Design Engineer to join the team in Jackson, MI. The role involves scheduling and developing construction plans for electric distribution projects, while owning field work and assembling work packages with bill of materials.

You will utilize GIS, CAD, and WMS systems to analyze and design construction plans, perform engineering calculations, and coordinate with project managers. Travel about 15% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering required.
• 0–2 years of relevant design engineering experience or strong construction background.
• Comfortable in both field and office settings.
• Interest in developing construction work packages for electric distribution.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and develop construction plans for project work.
• Create work packages and bill of materials.
• Own field work with notes, photos, measurements for design.
• Use GIS, CAD, and WMS to develop project construction plans
• Coordinate with project managers and travel to surrounding cities (15%).
