Yusen Logistics is seeking an Entry Writer I to join the CHB team in Grapevine, Texas, focusing on accurate and timely submission of customs entries for CBP clearance of inbound cargo and smooth freight delivery to customers. The role serves as a customer advocate with strong data entry, communication, and organizational skills; incumbents may be promoted from administrative roles to become entry writers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years of experience and/or training in an import operation.
• Office environment experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receive and review documentation to input and transmit data for CBP release of shipments.
• Follow SOPs for each customer on the correct method and data required for preparing an entry.
• Use product files for identification of HTS details on the commercial invoice.
• Coordinate with supervisors and team on entry tasks for cargo release and exceptions to clearance requirements.
• Organize work to identify the status of every file through all phases of the CBP entry process.
• Confirm release details to customers via pre-established communications protocols.
• Meet KPI targets for Import operations.
• Track and trace shipments and coordinate with steamship lines, freight forwarders and CFS on availability of shipments.
• Arrange with trucking companies for pickup and delivery of freight.
• Handle accounting processes related to CHB including invoice issuance and payment requisitions.
