Qualifications

• New Bedford residency required
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required
• Multilingual skills encouraged (Cape Verdean Creole, Portuguese and/or Spanish)

Responsibilities

• Reports to the Principal/Senior Custodian to attend to problems or complaints
• Assists in preparing all school functions and activities and moving furniture under direction
• Maintains a clean, sanitary and safe environment in kitchen/cafeteria areas as directed
• Unloads supplies and equipment for use or storage in the building
• Assists with upkeep of heating and ventilation systems and general maintenance
• Assists in securing the building and notes areas needing special attention
• Notifies supervisor of facilities or equipment needing repair
• Performs routine and non-routine duties as directed
• Maintains professionalism within the Custodial Department, reflects pride
• Performs duties per Muni-Class Code and related requirements
