Responsibilities

• Reports to the Principal/Senior Custodian to attend to problems or complaints.
• Assists in preparing all school functions and activities, and moving/rearranging furniture and equipment under the Principal/Senior Custodian.
• Maintains a clear, sanitary and safe environment in kitchen/cafeteria areas as directed.
• Unloads supplies and equipment as directed by the New Bedford School Department.
• Assists with upkeep of heating and ventilation systems and basic preventative maintenance.
• Assists in securing the building and notes areas needing attention.
• Notifies the Principal/Senior Custodian of facilities or equipment needing repair.
• Performs routine and non-routine duties as directed.
• Maintains cleanliness of building and grounds reflecting pride and efficiency.
• Operates within the Custodial Department to project professionalism to peers, staff, and students.
