New Bedford Public School District is seeking a Jr. Custodian who resides in New Bedford or is strongly preferred to do so. The role supports the Principal and Senior Custodian, helps prepare school events, moves furniture, and maintains a clean, safe environment in buildings and kitchens.

It includes basic upkeep of heating/ventilation systems and securing the facility. The position is full-time under the Director of Facilities with compensation aligned to the AFSCME contract.

Qualifications

• NEW BEDFORD residency required
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required

Responsabilités

• Reports to the Principal/Senior Custodian to attend to problems
• Assists in preparing school functions and moving furniture
• Maintains cleanliness and safety in kitchen/cafeteria areas
• Unloads supplies and equipment as assigned
• Supports heating/ventilation system upkeep and basic maintenance
• Secures the building and notes areas needing attention
• Notifies supervisor of repairs or maintenance needs
• Performs routine and non-routine tasks as directed
• Maintains building and grounds with professionalism
• Performs related duties per Muni-Class Code
