Job summary

Office of Cannabis Management seeks an Assistant Counsel reporting to the General Counsel in the Legal Division. The role manages a portion of the agency's legal portfolio, including contracts, human resources matters, and FOIL requests.

You will provide technical legal assistance to the Director of Administration and other executives, handling labor relations advice, ethics policy implementation, confidential investigations, and supervision of attorneys.

Qualifications

Admission to and membership in good standing of the New York State Bar.
Two years of subsequent professional legal experience.
Valid Driver's License issued by the NYS DMV or demonstrated capacity to meet transportation needs.
Legal research and memoranda preparation skills.
Contract review and procurement negotiation experience.
