Job summary

The Associate Counsel will serve on the Licensing, Regulations, and Compliance team within the Office of Cannabis Management's Office of General Counsel, reporting to a Deputy Counsel.

Responsibilities include providing legal support to OCM's licensing and compliance teams, supervising attorneys and legal assistants, representing OCM in administrative hearings, drafting legislation and regulations, and conducting legal research.

Qualifications

  • Must be admitted to the NY State Bar and in good standing.
  • At least four years of post‑admission professional legal experience.
  • Experience representing an agency in licensing, compliance, and enforcement matters.
  • Experience drafting proposed regulations and legislation.
  • Valid driver’s license or ability to meet transportation needs.

  • Valid New York State Driver's License or demonstrated capacity to meet transportation needs
