Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Indianapolis is seeking an entry-level finance professional to assist with project accounting, cost reporting, and financial data analysis on assigned projects. The role supports AP transactions, cost coding, and month-end close activities.

You will learn construction operations, project cost drivers, and how to apply GAAP while working with SAP and Excel in a collaborative team environment. Limited travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Construction Management, or related field with minimum 1 year of related experience; internship or co-op experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of GAAP and financial processes.
• Interest in cost accounting, construction finance, and project-based financial management; willingness to learn AI tools for analysis.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project accounting tasks and analyze financial data using company financial systems.
• Support preparation, review, and audit of cost reports.
• Identify cost variances, project risks, and compliance considerations through review of project financials.
• Audit and reconcile client billings against the general ledger to ensure accuracy.
• Support accounts payable transactions and verify vendor/subcontractor invoices for proper cost coding.
• Assist with month-end close activities, journal postings, and GL reconciliations.
• Contribute to project billings, AR monitoring, and forecasting general conditions and labor costs.
