Turner Construction Company in Augusta, GA is seeking a Project Accountant to provide comprehensive financial administration and cost analysis for assigned projects. You will support budgeting, manage AP, monitor billing, and ensure strict adherence to GAAP and Turner policies.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 3 years of experience, with strong Excel skills and experience with SAP/Textura.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; minimum 3 years of related experience with at least 1 year as project accountant.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP and company policies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to tailor to different levels.
• Ability to educate others to identify risks and enforce compliance.
• Analytical ability to review financial data, identify trends, and resolve inconsistencies.
• Understanding of cash flow and profitability optimization.

Responsabilités

• Provide financial analytical support and implement financial procedures for projects, including complex contract types and joint ventures.
• Partner with Operations to review budgets and reflect risk and improvements per owner contracts and Turner policies.
• Communicate project risks to senior leadership and supervisors.
• Monitor client billing and accounts receivable and address issues.
• Maintain internal controls for assigned projects.
• Coordinate with Project Operations and Turner Shared Services to support project setup, AP processing, and month-end close.
• Monitor cash position, assess financial risks, and work with leadership to mitigate risks.
• Oversee project assets and rentals and ensure proper insurance documentation.
• Prepare financial analyses, reports, and cost reports (BARs/CABs).
• Assist in project forecasts and revisions to ensure contract compliance.
• Support financial closeout and respond to audit requests.
• Attend on-site meetings and budget reviews.
• Mentor junior accounting staff on cost processes.
