Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Indianapolis is seeking a finance intern to support profit centers with accounts receivable, payable, general ledger, and related close activities. You will assist with billing, vendor invoicing, and data entry for multi-project invoices.

This paid internship offers exposure to audit requests, report preparation, and cooperation with the Operational Finance team. Candidates must be enrolled in a 4-year program in Accounting or Finance and possess strong MS Excel

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a 4-year college offering accredited and credentialed degree programs, recommended majors include Accounting or Finance, with at least 1 year of education.
• Must be willing to work standard work week.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills including leadership, volunteering, or community involvement.

Responsibilities

• Assist accountant to ensure client contractual requirements are met in regard to billing and accounts receivables.
• Process accounts payable for vendor invoices and ensure accounts are up to date for assigned projects.
• Process accounts payable for subcontractor invoices and ensure lien waivers and contracts are in place.
• Assist with completing monthly close process and posting or accruing client bills and project costs.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests.
• Facilitate data entry for project vendor invoices and prepare multi-project invoices for distribution to central financial center.
• Provide administrative duties related to invoice processing, vendor setup, and tax reporting.
• Help prepare Turner owner applications for payment with supporting invoice backup.
• Provide supervisor with periodic progress reports.
