About the Role
Currie & Brown is seeking a motivated Junior Contracts Manager to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional looking to build experience in contracts, procurement, and commercial management within the construction industry.
In this role, you will support the drafting, review, and administration of vendor agreements, subcontracts, requests for proposals (RFPs), and requests for quotations (RFQs). You’ll work closely with project managers, technical teams, suppliers, procurement, and legal teams while gaining hands‑on experience supporting complex construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing, formatting, reviewing, and tracking contracts, amendments, change orders, and other commercial documentation under the guidance of senior team members.
- Support the preparation and administration of RFPs and RFQs for materials, professional services, subcontracted work, and owner-furnished contractor-installed (OFCI) equipment.
- Help ensure agreements align with company policies, established commercial terms, contractual requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Maintain supplier and vendor records, track performance, and assist with resolving invoice, delivery, documentation, and milestone discrepancies.
- Work alongside project and commercial teams to help identify contractual requirements, track commitments, and support effective contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain accurate contract logs, databases, correspondence, amendments, and closeout documentation to ensure organized and audit-ready records.
- Serve as a point of coordination between project teams, suppliers, procurement, and legal while developing a strong understanding of commercial and contractual processes.
Qualifications & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Contracts Management, Project Engineering, or a related discipline.
- An associate degree in a related field combined with relevant experience will also be considered.
- 0–3 years of experience in contract administration, procurement, purchasing, project controls, construction, or project support.
- Previous exposure to a construction, engineering, or field-based environment is preferred.
- Internships, co-ops, and relevant trade or field experience are encouraged and will be considered.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Foundational understanding of commercial terms, contract principles, procurement, and risk.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
