Job summary

Currie & Brown is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor in the Phoenix area to own key commercial and cost management activities across the project lifecycle. You will deliver trusted cost advice, manage budgets, and work directly with clients, contractors, and project teams on large-scale, technically complex programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 7-10+ years of quantity surveying, cost management, estimating, or commercial management experience.
• Authorized to work in the United States and able to work on-site in Phoenix, AZ.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost management activities from early planning and estimating through construction and closeout.
• Develop and manage detailed cost plans, budgets, forecasts, and project cost reports.
• Provide commercial and cost advice directly to clients and project leadership.
• Manage contract administration, change control, and commercial reporting.
• Review and evaluate contractor estimates, change orders, payment applications, and progress claims.
• Support procurement strategies, bid evaluations, tender analysis, and contractor negotiations.
• Monitor project costs, identify potential risks and opportunities, and provide proactive recommendations.
• Lead value engineering and cost optimization initiatives while protecting project objectives.
• Work closely with contractors, design teams, project managers, and client stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate forecasting and provide clear visibility into project financial performance.
• Support and mentor junior members of the cost management team as needed.
• Ensure Currie & Brown's high standards of client service and commercial excellence are maintained throughout the project

About the Role:

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of key commercial and cost management activities throughout the project lifecycle, providing trusted cost advice and helping drive strong commercial outcomes. You will have significant client exposure and the opportunity to work within a collaborative global consultancy.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline
• 7-10+ years of relevant quantity surveying, cost management, estimating, or commercial management experience
• Experience supporting large-scale, complex construction projects; high-tech, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, data center, or mission-critical experience is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of cost planning, estimating, procurement, change management, forecasting, and contract administration
• Experience working directly with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams
• Strong understanding of U.S. construction practices and contracts
• Excellent commercial judgment, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
• Ability to independently manage significant scopes of work in a fast-paced project environment
• MRICS or progress toward professional accreditation is preferred but not required
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Must be able to work on-site in the Phoenix, Arizona area
