Job summary

Kleinfelder in the United States is seeking a Construction Materials Field Technician to join our growing Construction Materials Testing (CMT) operation in Austin. No prior experience required as full training and technician certification paths are provided to help you advance.

You'll perform routine quality control tests, review plans, prepare daily reports, and interact with clients on site. The role may require travel and occasional night work, with a strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, and

Qualifications

• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to pass drug test.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member, maintain composure, and work effectively in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., work outdoors in varying weather conditions, traverse uneven terrain, and stand for extended periods.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Able to use a company provided laptop or iPad and a working knowledge of MS Office programs (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Construction-related training or technical training desirable
• Certifications in Concrete and Soil desirable

Responsibilities

• Routine quality control test procedures including concrete and nuclear moisture / density testing.
• Becoming familiar with reading and understanding applicable construction plans and specifications.
• Preparation and submission of daily reports.
• Interact with clients, contractors, and other design professionals.
• Attendance at job site related meetings.
• Performance of testing in our soils and construction materials testing laboratories.
• Opportunity for continuing education and role‑specific certification.
• This position may require occasional travel and/or night work based on project locations, client needs, and/or active project assignments.
