Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in McKinney, TX is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician with no prior experience. You’ll learn to perform materials testing under the guidance of senior technicians and project managers, with paid training and certification fee coverage.

The role emphasizes safety, proper documentation, and coordination with site teams. Training opportunities include OSHA 10, ACI, ASNT, ICC, NICET, NRCA and more; physical ability to lift up to 85 pounds is

Qualifications

• No experience required; training provided.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
• Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
• OSHA 10 certification may be required.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading and writing).
• Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Field activities: conduct observation, testing and sampling of soils, aggregates and concrete on project sites under guidance.
• Testing procedures: perform routine field and/or laboratory tests for soils, aggregates and concrete per industry standards.
• Data collection: perform calculations and data reduction based on sampling and test results; assist with calculations, drafting and admin duties as requested.
• Communication: maintain daily communication with site contractors and project managers; relay changes and testing requests; attend project meetings; organize field equipment.
• Training and development: receive ECS methodology training for observations, inspections and testing; document findings in accordance with engineering practices.
