Job summary

Whiting-Turner Contracting Company in Phoenix seeks an entry-level engineer to help manage all aspects of construction projects. You will report to a project manager and/or a superintendent, coordinating with owners, architects, engineers and subcontractors to keep work on schedule and within budget.

The role includes training, documenting change orders, reviewing drawings, and ensuring quality standards. You will be involved in meetings, cost tracking, and coordinating trades on site to support

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, engineering technology or construction management.
• Knowledge of engineering principles.
• Ability to read and understand technical specifications, blueprints, and drawings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Experience with construction projects or coordinating with trades.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work with project owner representatives, architects, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors.
• Assist in managing estimating, bidding processes and tracking costs.
• Resolve and clarify design issues and field issues.
• Document change orders, contracts and purchase orders.
• Participate in meetings to coordinate work and manage labor concerns.
• Ensure quality standards and contract specifications are met.
• Implement project schedules and track tasks to project completion.
• Review drawings, specifications and submittals for each project phase.
• Communicate progress and issues with the project team.
