Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking an Entry-Level Engineer to assist in managing all aspects of construction projects in Los Angeles. Reporting to a Project Manager and/or Superintendent, you will coordinate with project owner representatives, architects and subcontractors to support project execution.

You will help with estimating, cost tracking, design issue resolution, and documenting contracts, changes, and schedules.

Qualifications

• Requires basic understanding of construction processes and project documentation.
• Ability to read drawings, specifications and change orders.
• Experience coordinating with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work with project owner representatives, architects, engineers, inspectors, and site subcontractors.
• Manage estimating and bidding processes and track costs to manage project budget.
• Resolve design issues and field issues and change orders.
• Write contracts and purchase orders documenting work, costs and specifications.
• Provide field support to ensure contract compliance and quality control.
• Track milestone progress and maintain site safety expectations.
• Document each phase of the project.
