Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking an entry-level engineer to help manage all aspects of construction projects.

Reporting to a project manager and/or a superintendent, duties include coordinating work with owner representatives, architects, engineers, inspectors and subcontractors; managing estimating and bidding processes; resolving design and field issues; and documenting costs and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline, engineering technology or construction management.
• Knowledge of engineering principles.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work with project owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors.
• Manage estimating and bidding processes and track project costs.
• Resolve design issues and field issues and change orders.
• Review project drawings, specifications, submittals and change orders.
• Provide field support to superintendents to ensure contract compliance and quality.
• Implement project schedules and track milestones.
• Document the technical, financial and personnel aspects of each project.
