Job summary

BlueScope Coated Products in Jackson, MS is seeking a Production Operator BCP Jr to safely operate the Prime Coater and assist Finish Coaters as needed. You will set up the coater, measure wet film thickness, viscosity, and temperature, perform roll changes, clean equipment, and document paint usage in Oracle.

The role requires basic computer skills, willingness to work up to 12-hour shifts, and adherence to safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
• At least 1 year of operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of basic hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Set up the Coater and measure painting parameters (wet film thickness, viscosity, temp).
• Monitor coating quality and adjust processes to prevent defects.
• Enter data into Oracle and document paint usage.
• Maintain safety protocols and clean work areas.
• Follow lab guidance and coordinate with QC Lab for paint adjustments.
