Job summary

CDM Smith in the United States is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Water Services Team in Charlotte, NC. You will develop basic to complex engineering designs for water, wastewater, and infrastructure projects under supervision.

Responsibilities include site layouts, drainage, hydraulics, water distribution, storage tanks, and stormwater infrastructure. You will review designs for regulatory compliance, prepare technical documentation, and contribute to white papers and conference materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 0 years of professional experience (entry-level position).
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Develop site layouts and grading plans, drainage designs, hydraulics and hydrology calculations.
• Design water distribution and collection systems, storage tanks, and impoundments.
• Design foundations, stormwater infrastructure, and treatment systems.
• Prepare documentation and contribute to knowledge-sharing via white papers and documentation for new or specialized designs and studies.
• Support development of technical papers, presentations, and conference materials.
• Performs other duties as required.
