Job summary

Langan is seeking an Entry-Level Civil Engineer to join its collaborative team in San Jose, CA. This role supports planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering and land development projects, offering exposure to mixed-use developments, shopping centers, residential, higher education, and federal work.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with 0-2 years of experience, and EIT/FE certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 0-2 years of work‑related experience.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• EIT Certification or FE exam registration preferred.
• Prior internship or experience in site/civil design (planning, grading, stormwater).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Availability to work Monday through Friday with occasional evenings and weekends.
• Travel may be required based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the planning, design and permitting of civil engineering, land development and infrastructure projects.
• Assist with the preparation and modification of engineering documents including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates and design plans using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.
• Assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics and topographical/geologic data for project planning and design.
• Recommend new approaches to improve efficiency and services.
• Apply knowledge and techniques of engineering and advanced mathematics.
• Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments.
• Perform other duties as requested.
