Job summary

AKRF, the New York City engineering firm, is seeking an Entry Level Civil Engineer to join our New York, NY office. The role involves supporting design of commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects under guidance, and advancing with CAD/software tools.

You'll work with a collaborative team, have 0-1 years of experience, a BS in Civil Engineering, and FE/EIT preferred. Strong communication and attention to detail are essential for success at AKRF.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering required.
• 0-1 year of work experience.
• FE/EIT certification preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Reliable transportation to access job sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and modification of various engineering documents including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates, and design plans for projects using engineering and design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.) and equipment.
• Use record documents, reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs to assess site characteristics such as hydrology, topographical and geologic data and their impact on the planning and design of projects.
• Site/civil design including site planning, site layout, grading, drainage, utility design, stormwater management, and soil erosion and sediment control.
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
• 0-1 years of work experience
• FE/EIT certification preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
• Reliable transportation to access job sites, on occasion, with a valid driver’s license in good standing.
• Demonstrate ability to follow direction and work in a collaborative team environment.
• Experience with computer aided drafting software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
