Job summary

AKRF is seeking a Senior Site Civil Engineer to join our New York City office, leading site/civil design and project management for municipal and private sector clients.

Responsibilities include coordinating drawings, managing budgets, overseeing construction administration, and mentoring junior staff, with a focus on NYS licensure progress.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of experience, a BS in Civil Engineering, and proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D; NYS PE preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required.
• 5–10 years of site civil engineering experience.
• NYS PE preferred; must obtain NYS licensure within 6–12 months if licensed elsewhere.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
• Experience with NYC permitting and Westchester County approvals.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support site/civil drawings, specifications, and reports for NYC projects.
• Lead and support project management tasks, including schedule and budget.
• Lead and support construction administration with site visits.
• Provide direction and training to junior staff.
• Communicate with clients and design consultants on day-to-day basis.
• Work independently and collaboratively with strong attention to detail.
• Meet multiple deadlines.
