Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in CAD, 3D modeling, drafting, survey or similar program experience.
• 2+ years in CAD, modeling or drafting.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation (2D & 3D).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with Civil 3D, Bentley Inroads, Bentley Open Rail/Open Roads Designer.
• Experience with Revit, Rhino3D, Navisworks is an advantage.
• General knowledge of engineering principles and materials for civil engineering work.
• Ability to comprehend civil engineering drawings.
• Capable of recognizing discrepancies with strong attention to detail.
• Critical thinking and ability to plan and conceptualize.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engineering design plans, technical reports and supporting documentation across rail, road, drainage and utilities projects.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to develop preliminary and final design plans and details.
• Participate in design reviews and provide recommendations.
• Use MicroStation, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Open Rail/Open Roads Designer, Civil3D and related software.
• Prepare documents with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
• Follow Transit Agency, Railroad and DOT standards and CAD standards.
• Develop engineering plans, profiles, specs and estimates for transportation projects.
• May assist in co-leading 1-2 designers on tasks and projects.
• Assist with development of team software training materials.
