Job summary

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers (KIE) is seeking a mid‑level Civil Designer to join the Digital Survey team in Lone Tree, CO. You will develop detailed 3D CAD models reflecting proposed designs and existing site conditions, and model surface data as new survey information becomes available.

Responsibilities include LiDAR processing, creating surfaces from point clouds, and ensuring quality control across deliverables.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in CAD/3D modeling or similar.
• 3–8 years CAD/3D modeling/drafting experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation Connect.
• General knowledge of civil/structural engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D models from construction plans and shop drawings.
• Research available public surface data.
• Serve as primary LiDAR data processing resource on projects.
• Work with point cloud data from mobile, terrestrial and airborne sources.
• Create surfaces from feature lines or point clouds.
• Quality control deliverables.
• Extract existing structures from point cloud data.
• Update surface models from survey requests.
• Maintain design basis information from survey, mentor juniors.
