Job summary

H MART MD Warehouse is seeking a Junior Buyer to drive profitability by purchasing and distributing high-quality groceries for H Mart stores. You will negotiate with vendors, perform market research, and analyze SAP data to source products, maintain pricing, and optimize supply chain operations.

The role involves market analysis, data-driven decision making, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Flexible, detail-oriented individuals with SAP and Excel skills will thrive in this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, SCM, Logistics, or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or SCM (retail or food industry preferred).
• Proficiency in SAP (Item Master, PO creation) preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) for data analysis.
• Detail-oriented with strong negotiation skills and trend spotting.

Responsibilities

• Purchase and distribute high-quality grocery items for H Mart stores.
• Negotiate with vendors on availability, specs, distribution, deadlines and price.
• Conduct market analysis, monitor sales trends, and respond to field issues.
• Create and maintain item master data in SAP (Description, Scan Code).

Description

Junior Buyer drives profitability and product performance by purchasing and distributing high-quality grocery items for H Mart stores. This role combines vendor negotiation, market trend research, and SAP data analysis to source new products, maintain competitive pricing, and optimize supply chain operations.

Purchasing

• Negotiations with vendors on availability, product specs, distribution, deadlines and price.
• Evaluate suppliers/vendors based on product quality, price, documentation, and shipping schedule.

Market research

• Perform market analysis, competitive shop and analyze sales trends.
• Investigate and respond to field issues.

Data Analysis

• Make weekly sales data
• Review and analyze daily and weekly reports
• Create and maintain item master data in SAP; Item Description, Scan Code

Qualifications / Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field
• 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or SCM (preferably in the retail or food industry)
• Proficiency in SAP (Item Master, PO creation) is highly preferred
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) for data analysis
• Detail-oriented, strong negotiation skills, and a proactive mindset for trend spotting
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Korean is often preferred for vendor communication
