Job summary

Hines is seeking an Apprentice Engineer in Houston to assist in operating and maintaining diverse building systems across properties. You will support preventive maintenance, perform repairs, and learn life safety and alarm procedures while ensuring safe, ethical practice and strong tenant service.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• One year of related experience preferred.
• Related trade certifications preferred.
• Continually develop building engineering and related knowledge.
• Interact with employees, visitors and contractors with poise and diplomacy.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.
• Make adjustments to HVAC equipment to maintain operating criteria.
• Perform general repairs and replacements of building components.
• Participate in water treatment chemical programs.
• Maintain operation and inspection logs for property operations.
• Apply knowledge of HVAC distribution and controls to resolve work orders.
• Provide prompt response to tenant requests within guidelines.
