Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team invites a motivated architectural designer to join in New York. You will work under the mentorship of a Senior Designer or Architect to develop designs, create two- and three-dimensional models, and coordinate with internal teams and external consultants.

You will leverage AutoCAD and Revit to produce drawings, while supporting documentation across project phases and contributing to sustainable design initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
• 2-3 years of relevant experience.
• LEED Green Associate or LEED AP certification preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD is required.

Responsibilities

• Keep the Project Manager or Project Architect updated on progress, expectations, deadlines, and deliverables within your responsibilities.
• Assist in monitoring and coordinating internal team and external consultant work and deadlines.
• Support project teams in developing designs through sketches, physical models, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats.
• Develop design concepts, renderings, and presentation drawings.
• Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to create two- and three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.
• Prepare and revise documentation across various architectural phases, including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, and details.
• Coordinate building systems (structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) to ensure they align with the design intent.
• Assist with contract administration tasks.
• Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.
• Implement sustainable design principles into building designs and the surrounding environment.
• Conduct site analysis and research concepts, benchmarks, typologies, and precedents.
